This 3000 hp at 8100 rpm and 1900 foot-pounds torque beast is a creation of Steve Morris from Steve Morris Engines, Michigan made for Tony Braglio from Top Sportsman. The engine is far from standard. Is has F-3R-136 from ProCharger and inlet balls from ProVolute (also from Steve Morris).
They are mounted at the front part of the construction, which is contrary to the plumbing of the nitrous guns. The very engine is 540 cubic inches large block made of iron. Pistons are from Diamond, crankshaft from Callies, cylinders are 14.5 degrees large and from Brodix, rocker arms are from Jesel, blow off valves are from Turbosmart USA and oil pan is from Moroso.
Intake manifold is designed by Morris as the jewel of the creation. It is meant to provide good performance and low profile to the ProCharger. In order to give that huge power output some 16 fuel injectors from Moran Motorsports were implemented, splitting between half 500 lb/hr and 325 lb/hr methanol that can be found at the fuel pump from Waterman. HolleyDominator ECU was in charge of engine tuning. One of the top demands on the engine is that it is reliable, since there are not so many large breaks between the adjacent races in Top Sportsman.
Since the car does not use methanol there is no need to use the intercooler, which helps keep the weight low. Morris has made huge improvement of the Sick Seconds of Tom Bailey for the Drag Week and that had its reflection in the world of other orders as well. The most important improvements to mention are Braglio valve train which is the same as the engine of Bailey, the actuation of the valve train and long intervals between the services. When tested on dyno this beats sounds amazing. What else would you expect from 2955.9 hp?
