One of the important events for driving safety was the foundation of Insurance Institute for Highway Safety some 50 years ago. In order to demonstrate its capabilities this organization has come up with an amazing competition video between 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air and 2009 Chevrolet Malibu. The tests demonstrate that the modern vehicle has incredible safety features, which cannot be approached by Bel Air from the fifties. The president of this Institute, Adrian Lund, claims that they were able to reach unprecedented safety of the new built cars from various car makers.
An epic crash test was performed in the honor of 50 years of continuous improvements in the safe driving conducted by Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Insurers have played important role for realization of common goals regarding highway safety for both car drivers and cars.
